A car driven by a pensioner fell from a bridge

Monday evening, April 5, a Lada Granta passenger car broke through the fence of the Pig-iron Bridge over the Terek River and fell down.

Initially, the local media wrote that the car was cut off, but the video that appeared of the moment of the accident did not confirm this assumption.

The published footage shows that the driver of the car did not return the steering wheel after turning to the forward position, the car continued the maneuver, jumped out of the roadway and, miraculously without hitting pedestrians, broke through the fence and fell.

According to the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Alania" , the 70-year-old victim was blocked in the car. The Emergencies Ministry officers managed to free her and hand her over to the doctors.


The republican Ministry of Health reported that the patient was diagnosed with a closed craniocerebral injury and fractures of the chest and lower leg. She is conscious, doctors assessed her condition as moderate.
