The Blue Flag Awards recognise beaches for their water quality, environmental management and safety. Currently there are 12 Blue Flag Award-winning beaches in the area.

Seaside awards
All 12 Blue Flag beaches have also received Seaside Awards from Keep Britain Tidy. Beaches at Bournemouth and Boscombe have also won this award.
