Experiencing the new Beaumont Bridge

The new Beaumont Bridge on SH8 is now open to traffic, replacing the old wrought-iron bridge that was built in 1887.

More than 1000 people got a close-up experience of the new bridge during its recent opening and had plenty to say about this stunning new addition to their community.

The old bridge is now being turned into a walking and cycling link, to be added to the Clutha Gold Cycle Trail.
