Florida Trail 88-store to Mike Roess 2/12/2021 Day 4 - Early Swamp Wading on longest day

Left Oak Hammock Camp aka Rice Creek Hilton on 4th day and had to wade thru chin deep water much of morning. Made it 12.3 miles to my destination Iron Bridge Shelter before 1. Filtered water and rinsed off clothes and body in the stream. Fellow hiker Serge showed up and after he left I decided it was too early to camp so packed back up and about 3 I headed to Tinsley Campsite. I was well rested and passed Serge maintaining about a 3 mph pace. Serge and I both encountered light rain and both of us camped at Tinsley Campsite, making a 17.0 mi total for me. It poured hard into the night and I kept my bedding dry by digging a trench around the high ground above my sleeping bag. My biggest miles and I felt good.
