Hiking & Exploring Lover's Leap State Park 1895 Berlin Iron Bridge + Factory House & Castle Ruins
Описание
A nice trail hike & explore in a Connecticut State Park. The iron bridge was built in 1895 by Berlin Iron Works and is no longer operational except for foot traffic. People often attach padlocks to the bridge to symbolize locking their love for the bridge. There are ruins of an old wood finishing factory in the park as well as house and castle ruins. I think the castle was just a small playhouse for the house owners' children. There's only a chimney where the house once stood as it burned down. The park is called Lover's Leap because there is a Native American Legend that says the Pootatuck Indian Chief Waramaug's daughter Princess Lillinonah and her lover plunged to their deaths. If you watch my video where I'm standing on the cliff high above the water you can see where it might be easy for anyone to fall there. There are also lakes in CT named "Waramaug" and "Lillinonah" so there must be some truth to the story or at least not fictional people. I just felt like another hike outdoors today and wanted to see this park and get some fresh air. I'm still going to lean towards abandoned places more often in my videos. Hope you enjoy.
