Ironbridge slam laser scan survey 2023

Slam survey of The Ironbridge in #Ironbridge, #Shropshire using #GeoSlam Zeb Horizon with Vision camera. We wanted to check out how good the transient noise filter was and we wondered where would have plenty of people and cars on a busy warm Spring Saturday. We plumped for Ironbridge which has been scanned many times with terrestrial laser scanners so thought here would be a good comparison.

Ironbridge is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and a global world heritage site. The bridge itself was the world’s first cast iron bridge, built by Abraham Darby III in 1779.

The scan duration was 17 minutes which is tiny compared to what a traditional land survey would have taken. Traditionally this would have involved many man-hours and days of work for a team of surveyors.
