Shropshire Way, Day 5, Much Wenlock to Ironbridge

We had planned to return to the Three Horseshoes at Wheathill so we could walk back over Brown Clee.

The remoteness and lack of facilities in that area really is preventive. Even the Youth Hostel at Wilderhope Manor is a no-go, as now only accepts whole venue bookings.

Much Wenlock would be worth spending some time in, historically significant as it is, and the same is true of Ironbridge.

Even though it was a much shorter walk today than the previous 4, there are so many points of interest that we came out with just as much film to edit down, perhaps even slightly more.

Lovely countryside too. A shame that crime, or fear of crime, I’m not sure which (it’s a chicken and egg thing) has had such a detrimental effect on Wyke.

I’m sure a more egalitarian, equitable and equal society would help both sides of that particular coin. It won’t fix it completely, but it’ll help.

Lovely conclusion to a truly beautiful 5 days of walking.
